Organ Works

Today, for about the umpteenth time, I watched an episode of Howard Goodall's Organ Works on the Ovation channel. I'm a big fan of his music and his TV productions. He wrote theme songs for several British sitcoms including The Vicar of Dibley and Black Adder. I wish he'd do more TV shows, and that I could get my choir director to perform some of his music.

Michelle Malkin has posted a "letter of apology" from Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll. Knoll crashed the funeral of a Marine, possibly as a campaign ploy. The family was understandably pissed, and Knoll wrote:
...after I learned through press reports that your family was offended by my attendance, I was incredibly upset.

It's one of my pet peeves that people are constantly misusing the word "incredibly." Here though, it appears Ms. Knoll has stumbled onto a correct usage. That she was upset by the family's taking offense is, in fact, incredible.

Public Bore

Jane Fonda has done (another) stupid thing. You'd think that, after taking 30+ years of abuse for posing with North Vietnamese anti-aircraft guns, she would have the good grace to stay out of future antiwar protests. It's not like there's no one to take up the mantle of peace. But no. She's decided to take an anti-Iraq war tour. This is an example of being a public bore. More here.

Because I can.
